If you like that kind of sloe liqueur, there is a very nice Spanish recipe “pacharán” that you should try. I don’t know if it’s available in UK’s markets, but you can definitely find it in amazon.
I remember thinking people were saying Slow Gin when I was growing up – and not drinking it particularly slowly! When I think of sloes nowadays I think of the Brown Hairstreak butterfly – my gin drinking days are long gone and I’m more likely to be out looking for butterfly eggs on the Blackthorn.
